Ski Berchtesgaden by Train

57 km of piste between 600-1800m

Ski berchtesgaden by train (c) Nic Oatridge

A largely unconnected group of lifts, none serving more than 11km of pistes, and all low-lying, characterise this beautiful locality, otherwise famous for its association with the Nazis. It is also popular for cross-country ski trails, winter walking, tobogganing, ice-skating and wellness spas (in Bad Reichenhall). The villages around Berchtesgarden are generally cute and family friendly, and the area oozes history.

With easy access to Munich and Salzburg and an efficient local bus service, Berchtesgadenland makes a good destination for either a ski safari or for a combination of skiing with other winter sports, wellness and cultural activities.
