Pretty, traditional Zell am Ziller is the largest resort in the Zillertal, and the first you get to from the Inn Valley. Although the highest slopes are below 2000m, it has a good snow record and bags of excellent pistes for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The town has a pleasant authentic feel and is home to the brewery for Zillertaller Beer.

Zell am Ziller is an easy trip from Innsbruck, ands you can get to the slopes in around an hour. Trains from Innsbruck take around a half hour to get to Jenbach where you switch to the Zillertalbahn. The lifts are about 15 minutes from the station, or you can hop on a ski bus.
