Ski Mürren by Train

54 km of piste between 1650-2971m

Mürren is a beautiful car-free village with spectacular views over the Jungfrau and some respectable skiing for all standards, including a wonderful black run off the Schilthorn, made famous in the James Bond film, OHMSS, and in the annual Inferno ski race, the world's oldest and longest ski race. Although it is the quietest of the Jungfrau resorts, and the slopes are not as extensive as those at Wengen and Grindelwald, it is more challenging for accomplished skiers and boarders.

Best of the Slopes at Mürren

The 16km run from Schilthorn to Lauterbrunnen is often closed beyond Mürren but this is a good run even only down as far as Mürren, with some seriously steep sections at the top and long sections where you need to keep up your speed to cover the flats.

Where to Eat and Party in Mürren

Piz Gloria is worth a visit, just for the Bond associations and the views. Nightlife is generally relaxed, but the Hotel Eiger is as good a place to visit for après ski activities. The Arvenstubli - Eiger Guesthouse has simple, good value, good quality food (+41 338565460).
